Personal Statement
I have been dreaming of playing college softball since I first took a step on the diamond. I haven’t looked back since. Playing softball and being competitive among other athletes has made me who I am today, and I would love to continue becoming not only a better person but a better athlete. Any free time that I have I go to the field and put work in. Whether it’s fielding, hitting or even conditioning I love it all.
I am currently enrolled in a smaller school in western New York and am fortunate enough to be a 3 sport athlete, and have been since I was allowed to play in middle school. However, my real passion is softball. My plan is to continue my education and softball career at the collegiate level. I plan to major in health sciences to then receive my graduate degree to become a Physician Assistant. My brother is one of the main reasons I want to pursue the medical field. He has some disabilities and I fell In love with wanting to help people because of helping him. I aim to make people feel better, smile and laugh a little more every day. I love learning new things every chance I get. I have a tremendous work ethic, drive, character and a never say never attitude. My teachers and coaches often tell me how proud they are of my work ethic and time management skills. I am able to play three sports for my school and manage playing on a travel softball team, being on the honor roll, a member of the National Honor society, enrolled in college English classes, participating in Spanish club, the Girls Athletic Association, SADD, and choir. While playing soccer and basketball I also fit in my off- season softball workouts and attend strength and conditioning every morning.
I am a hard worker and aspire to play college softball, the game has taught me so much. I play center field( anywhere in the outfield is just as great) , 1st B and occasionally 3rd B. I love being on the field and working with my teammates toward a common goal. I plan to continue working hard and improving as a player and even more as a person. I look forward to my future and becoming a part of a college softball program that feels like family. I am also looking forward to attending school and pursuing my passion in the medical field.
