Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Kylie Lockwood and I would like to introduce myself!  I am 15 years old a sopohomore at Oak Hills High School (Cincinnati, OH).  I played on the JV team as a 7^th grader and became a starter on the varsity softball team as an 8^th grader at Campbell County High School (Campbell County, KY).  We finished our season 25 and 3, district champs, and regional runner ups.  I learned a lot about teamwork and working towards a common goal from the seven seniors on the team.  I am currently engaged with multiple players from the softball team by going to team outings and working out with teammates.  I decided to play on a more competitive and regional travel softball team to enhance and hone on my skills.  This summer I will be playing with the 16u USSSA Pride Silver Busxel.  I look forward to being challenged with the very difficult schedule we will be playing.  I am planning on attending one or more college camps this fall and spring.

I am a very good student and take my education very seriously.  I am not 100 percent decided on my major.  However, I am leaning towards becoming a Teacher and having education as my major.  While school is very important to me I do have other hobbies.  Learning the guitar has interested me and I am currently take to the first steps in playing the guitar.  I also am involved in the community and around the holidays we will sing Christmas Carols to the local nursing homes.  Also, I am currently manager for the high school girls Volleyball team.

I plan on considering colleges that will meet my academic needs.  I am very passionate about softball and want to continue playing at a college that will challenge me athletically and academically.
