Personal Statement

I have loved this sport for as long as I can remember. My mom always talks about how excited I was to go to my first practice in kindergarten. Through this sport I have learned that short term memory is very important. When you are hitting and strike out, or even in the field and make an error, you have 10 seconds to be mad and reflect, then you forget about it and cheer on your teammates. I strongly believe that your character is very important. You need to be able to be genuinely happy for your team and not be all about yourself, otherwise you're holding your team back from achieving a new level of greatness.

Going into my Sophomore year of softball, I found out that I had torn a ligament in my wrist from a winter hitting session. I wasn't able to get it checked out at the time because basketball tournament games were about to start. The previous season of softball I was voted as First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District, Second team All-Ohio, and All Ohio Underclass All-Star Team; so this upcoming season was a big deal for me. Learning about my injury, it tore me apart, not being able to play the game I loved. Once I got released to start easing back into things, I immediately started working to get my wrist strength back in hopes to play by the end of the season. It was a very difficult path, but with hard work, a couple tears, and determination;  I was able to play the last three games of my sophomore season. Softball has given me the opportunity to build up my character, confidence, and abilities on and off the field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
