Irene VanDyke '25 Recruiting Profile

I am excited to take the next step after high school to come closer to achieving my goals.  In the classroom, I've always been good with numbers.  After my first Accounting class as a Freshman, I was hooked and knew this was the path for me.  My teacher was a great mentor and everything just clicked.  Outside the classroom, I have had a long time love of softball.  With the guidance of my coaches over the years I have really improved my skills.  When I discovered morning workouts in high school, I learned a lot about improving myself through weight training as well as speed and agility workouts.  My coaches also helped me fine tune my nutrition habits to become a better athlete.  I have always set high standards for myself to continually improve both academically and athletically.

In college, I plan on studying Accounting.  I would also like to continue playing softball at the collegiate level to see how far I can push myself as an athlete.  I'm a master of time management, balancing school and athletics, and I'm an extremely hard worker doing whatever it takes to get better.  What sets me apart from other athletes is my desire to be more than who I was yesterday.  In everything I do I push myself to find that next level, that next chance for greatness.
