Avery Rust '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I'm Avery Rust and I am currently a sophomore at Tigard High School in Tigard, Oregon. Softball has been in my life since I was about three years old, and I've loved it ever since. Softball/baseball are in my blood. My dad played professional baseball, finishing in AAA. My mom was a talented three-sport athlete in high school and once had a private tryout with the Colorado Silver Bullets women's baseball team, but unfortunately the team folded that year. 

I aspire to play softball in college at the highest level I can, at a competitive school that also has good academics. I'm a two-way player, I pitch and I hit consistently for average with power. I believe in prioritizing academics over athletics, so I always put my schoolwork before softball. Some things that are very important to me are being a good teammate and having a competitive mindset. Playing softball has led me to meet a lot of great people including some of my best friends. I am still undecided on a major, but I'm considering kinesiology. I'm currently open to many different kinds of schools, and I'm excited to be a team leader on whatever team I play for.
