Personal Statement
I believe that I would make a great candidate for a college team because of my determination. I am persistent and work towards achieving goals inside and outside the classroom. This is evident from the courses I took my freshman year as well as this year. The one thing I have learned through playing softball is do not take anything for granted. I was slated to be the varsity starting pitcher as a freshman, but it all fell apart with the shutdown. This did not change my approach at practice, but it gave me a better perspective of the here and now. I now have the approach to play each and every game as if it were my last.
I am also coachable. I do not cause drama or issues during practice or games. When I show up for a practice or a game, it is all business. I am there to do a job. I keep my head down and keep plugging away at doing what is needed to help my team win a game. I stay focused on things that I have the power to change and move forward. Each practice I pick something that I want to do better than I did the practice before, and so far, that has worked.
