Samantha Doherty '13 Recruiting Profile

I will be graduating in 2013 from Palmerton Area High School in Pennsylvania. My dream is to attend nursing school in college and to one day become a nurse anesthetist. Having shadowed in the Operating Room on two occasions I have observed and desire to one day be a part of a surgical team. The way the different staff members work together performing their individual jobs for the greater outcome of the patient, reminds me of the way a sports team works together to achieve victory. I believe this is one reason why I am drawn to this line of work- I love being a part of a team. When I look back at my High School years one day, playing field hockey will no doubt be one of my happiest memories. I would love to continue to play competitively in College because being an athlete is a big part of who I am. I would love to become a member of a college field hockey team and create new bonds with a new group of teammates, and hopefully win a championship along the way! I look forward to the challenge of a playing a college level sport while successfully pursuing/achieving my academic goals.
