Personal Statement
My name is Journey Custer and I'm a 5'6" hardworking softball player. I'm truly dedicated to this sport. I am an athlete who knows the game of softball. My most important accomplishments were being nominated for first team All-District and the Rookie of the year my freshman year in high school. I also received the MVP award my 7th and 8th grade year playing JR High softball. I have been on the varsity softball team at my high school since my freshmen year.
Knowing that I'm capable of playing softball in college makes me more passionate for this sport. What I can offer to a team, is the promise to always work hard and never give up. I have always been told that the most important play is the next one. I live by that on and off the field every day.
When it comes to choosing what school, I would like to go to, my options are very big. I mainly am looking at colleges near home (Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri) but I am very open to going anywhere. I want to find the college that I am right for as much as the college wants to find the right players. I am planning on majoring in Criminal Justice, and will be looking for a college that will have that as a course.
My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing the sport I love with my travel team and high school team. I strive to not only be the best I can be, but to handle whatever is thrown at me with a good attitude. I hope one day I can be aninspiration to girls like me.
