Samantha Hood '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches!

    My name is Samantha (aka Sami) Hood. I was raised on a softball diamond. haha My older sister played softball and my brothers played baseball and as the youngest, I always had to work super hard to try to keep up with all of them. I was smaller and weaker and slower than they were, so it made me strive extra hard to keep up and play with my siblings. Then I grew bigger and stronger and all of a sudden I wasn't only keeping up, I was earning their respect.

It seemed like I was at the ball park playing in diamond dirt almost every night growing up. I love this game. I love that it has taught me about perseverance, team work, and how to win and lose with class. I have had great coaches who have imparted a ton of life lessons in my world; one of which is never give up...even when you are down. I am leaning toward a career in the medical field. For now, I will leave it broad, as I am still researching different careers. I am still really trying to narrow down my intended path. I feel I am a great team player, a super hard worker, and extremely dedicated to the sport that I have been playing for as long as I can possibly remember. I love feedback from my coaches so that I can continue to develop to be the very best athlete and competitor that I can be. I look forward to being a positive contributor to the right college fit for me.
