Activity
- Inc. comes from a parable written by Loren C. Eiseley entitled the Star Thrower. His story tells of an old man walking along a beach who notices a young boy repeatedly bending down to pick up an object and throw it back in the ocean. When the man got close enough to the young boy he realized the beach was covered in starfish that had been washed ashore. The old man told the boy that he would never make a difference because of the sheer number of starfish washed ashore. The boy picked up another starfish and threw it in the ocean and turned to the old man saying that he made a difference to that one. Our motto for the Starfish Society
