Personal Statement
From a young age i aspired to be the best at whatever I was doing. Whether I was in the classroom, on a field, or even on a court, I wanted to be the best wherever I was, and the drive to do so has always been there for me. When I walked into my freshman year I was told that I would not be able to be Valedictorian because I was in athletics, and though I do continue to push as hard as I can, the kid taking eight 5-point classes opposed to my seven is now #1 in our class, and I am now #2 according to our most recent transcript from January 2020. I still have three more semesters, and I will continue to push myself in the classroom to be the best student that I can be, as an athlete dropping athletics is out of the picture. Sports are/always have been who I am, and giving that up is not in me. I am still an A student and always have been, but I decided to remain true to myself as a person and stay in athletics and that is currently/has a very large chance of continuing to keep me from being #1 in my class. I am very driven, and on any team, with any teammates, I would push myself to outwork everyone around me, because that is who I am.
