In the eighth grade, I started out in a recreation league in a city about thirty minutes away from me. I know I started out late for softball but the reason why I wanted to play was because of my cousin. She was just starting high school softball and I was going to her games and it looked fun. Right after the recreation season, I got onto a travel competition team. I was the only incoming freshman on the team as the rest all played for the same high school team.
When high school season started, I played for my high school team. I was a starting varsity player just as a freshman and have been on varsity ever since. Our high school is a small 3A school but we still work hard to play to win. The reason why I want to play college softball is because I love the sport. I haven’t been playing long but I understand the game and want to continue to play well after high school. I’m looking for a school that will help me continue my softball experience and prepare me for my future academically. My goal is to become an athletic trainer so I can continue to work with sports. I am looking forward to seeing what the future of my softball career holds and hoping I have what it takes to be a college softball player.
