Sofia Anderson '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a graduate of Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, VA and completed my fourth year as a Varsity starter for the Division 1, Virginia State Champion team this past spring. We were ranked number one in the state of Virginia in 2022 and 2023, ranked #12 in the nation by Max Preps in 2023 and are the 2024 VISAA and WCAC Champions. I am particularly proud that I got voted most outstanding player by my teammates in 2022. I also received the most outstanding player in 2024 and the Pigskin Club of DC 2024 Softball Player of the Year. This year our record was 23-0 and in my high school career we went 76-1.

I figure skate, do ballet and am a Girl Scout. In addition, I play the flute and was awarded a music scholarship. I carried a heavy load of Honors and Advanced Placement Courses, was dual-enrolled with Marymount University and completed a 3-credit Animal Science course at Cornell University. I made Distinguished Honors recognition for the past three and a half years. I had a 4.54 GPA in my Sophomore year. My GPA for the 2022-23 year was 4.80. I was also inducted into the National Spanish Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and the National Honor Society.

I am a competitor. I believe in doing the best I can in everything I do. I have a strong work ethic, am highly organized and able to juggle multiple things. I set high goals for myself.

Since I first started playing softball, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. I’ve always been one of the fastest players on the team and usually lead my team in BA and OBP. I am a team player and will do whatever is needed to help the team and my teammates succeed. 

I want to attend a university where I can continue to push myself in the classroom and on the softball field. I strive to be a role model, leader and contributor to society and to my community. I am very excited to be playing D1 softball with the University of California-Davis Aggies this Fall.
