Hitting / June 20...
Hitting / Vienna ...Being the only girl playing competitive baseball on travel teams since I was ten to the age of fourteen has helped me grow and stay mentally tough and focused. I have always been driven to work harder than the rest to prove that I deserved the role of starting catcher. The success and experiences I have had playing baseball shaped me as a leader both personally and athletically.
I was fortunate to convert to softball my freshman year of high school and have been part of an amazing program. I was moved up to Varsity after starting every game as catcher for JV. I developed strong skills catching and hitting during this conversion period. The team finished 1st in the conference, 2nd in the region, and went to the semi-final 5A Virginia State game. The values of teamwork, commitment, and leadership were reinforced throughout the season.
My junior year I started at either C or 1B - our team went 1st in conference, 1st in region, and 1st in the class 5 VA State Championship game. We are also ranked #30 nationally after this season, and #1 in Virginia. It was an amazing season where the team worked hard for every play and every practice - we had a goal and we never let up. Hitting a home run in the championship game was a memory I will never forget.
I also played basketball for the high school and maintained a 4.0+ average, so I have learned to manage my time both on and off the field over the course of my freshman year.
I am looking for a solid program that will benefit me both academically and athletically. I believe I have the talent to compete at a high level along with the work-ethic and leadership skills to contribute to your program.
