Personal Statement
My love for softball started when my Father would throw ball with me in my backyard. As my Father seen my interest grow for the sport he signed me up to play my first year of softball when I was six years old. I remembering being so excited and my love for the game when I stepped out on that field and even until this day I still get that same feeling. I continued throughout school playing every year and when I turned eleven years old, I played my first year of travel ball with Pink Velocity Softball 12U. Since then I have played several years on travel ball teams continuing my experience in softball. I am currently in my Freshman year at Lee High School and was selected to start as a Pitcher on the Varsity Softball Team. In addition, I currently help coach the local softball teams in our area by committing my time with young athletes in Little League.
During these years of playing softball, I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.
I envision my college years to be a personal growth period. My goal is to explore psychology or Sports Medicine as my major. On the field, I plan to be a dynamic player and positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my softball career. I will strive to be an asset to any position on the field. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
