Katie McBride '27 Recruiting Profile

I'm a 2027 graduate who plays shortstop and third base with a 417 batting avg. I have had a passion for this sport ever since my Grandpa taught me how to hit a ball in our backyard at the age of four. Since then I knew that my goal was to become a hard working athlete so I could become the best player I could possible be to someday get the opportunity to play at the college level. Over the years I have learned so much through this sport and not only about the game but also myself. I have learned the importance of teamwork and determination. I pride myself in my hard work and positive attitude on and off the field. I also pride myself in being a supportive teammate on the field and off. One of my favorite things to do is go support my teammates at their other extra curricular activities such as plays and dance recitals. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and want to major in psychology. Outside of softball I have a passion for art and music. I spend my free time hanging out with friends and family. I also enjoy volunteering at the local community garden. I want to be on a hard working committed team that also knows how to have fun. I want to be pushed by my teammates to be the best player I can be. I believe all my hard work has prepared me to make this dream a reality.
