I am junior at Wheeling Park High School where I play on the varsity team. I have been playing varsity since my freshman year of the 2021-2022 school year, and I believe that I am a good candidate for college softball. I know that there are probably numerous girls who can say the same things. So then what makes me different? I can say it’s the lifelong journey of playing the sport since I was old enough to walk. But the truth is, I made my way back to softball. I have tried cheering, basketball, and even track. After playing softball year round for years I decided to take a break. I took a season of softball off and tried my hand at other things I was interested in. The outcome? I missed the release, the peace I found every time I walked onto the field. I missed the rush and adrenaline. The feeling of excitement and competitive rush that softball gave me. So I returned more focused, more driven to be the best softball player on and off the field. I practice harder, more often, and even help my little sisters improve their techniques. I now know that this is what I want to do at the next level.
