Personal Statement
"Set your goals high, and don't stop until you get there."- Bo Jackson. This is a quote that I am determined to live by as a student-athlete. My goal is to continue my softball career at the collegiate level while maintaining academic success. I am a fiercely determined competitor and am committed to my team, education, and the success of both. I strive for excellence in both the classroom and on the field. I am not deterred by adversity, setbacks, or failures; rather I see them as an opportunity to learn and grow as a player and person. Each summer I participate in an 8-day backpacking trip in the wilderness outside of Yellowstone National Park. These trips have taught me how to push myself past what I thought were my limits and find new ones for myself. This experience has also taught me that being physically fit is not enough when it comes to sports, mental toughness also plays a huge role in successful outcomes. To me, being a great teammate means pushing those around you to be better every day, it means being a positive leader and putting your teammates before yourself, it means playing for the girls surrounding you on the field, and most importantly it means always giving 110%.
