Malia Heien '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Malia and I am a Junior at Northfield High School in Denver, CO. I have been developing my skills as a basketball player for 10 years, and have played for multiple highly competitive club teams. I have had the opportunity to compete at numerous in and out of state tournaments. I am an extremely versatile player and have played at every position on the court, however I am most confident in my abilities as a small forward or wing player.  I am a well-rounded player who excels at defense, and always goes for the extra hustle play. Along side basketball I also compete at the varsity level in cross country and long distance track, which provides me with a high level of stamina and speed. I am a level-headed player who believes in putting the team first. I value hard work, discipline,  and team camaraderie.  Coaches have told me I have a high basketball IQ and I am very coachable; I am always striving to be better and willing to learn. 

My current GPA is 5.029  and I am pursuing my IB diploma. I am leaning towards majoring in a biological science such as Molecular Biology, or Human Biology and Kinesiology for pre-med.
