Caitlyn Phillips '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Caitlyn Phillips, and I am part of the class of 2022. I am a freshman in college looking for a place to grow in my athletic and academic endeavors!

I am a 6' center/power forward. My greatest strengths are rebounding, put backs, and I have great hustle- I can chase down and block fast breaks even though I am a big post player. An unusual trait I have that most post players don't is good agility. I am also a great student of the game, and am very coachable. 

I hustle in the classroom as well. I have a GPA of 3.8 and am currently in several AP classes, including AP Literature and AP Government, where I continually challenge my self academically. I am very good at balancing my student life and basketball life, and also participate in other extra curricular activities such as Venturing (a coed branch of Boy Scouts where I have an opportunity to do meaningful volunteer work and practice leadership skills) and working part time as a babysitter. 

I am interested in majoring in Premed and/or Engineering (biomedical engineering), and possibly study forensic pathology. As an athlete, I am looking for a basketball family where I can make a difference. I want to grow not only as a player, but as a person and a leader. Having a lot of school spirit and a real family feel is important to me, because I would like to be able to support others, and also be supported.
