Personal Statement

Hi Coaches and Recruiters! As a passionate and dedicated hockey player, I have always found a sense of purpose and belonging on the ice. Growing up in Beaumont, Alberta, Canada, hockey has been more than just a sport for me; it has shaped my character and taught me invaluable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and leadership.  In the past year my family has relocated to Houston, Texas which has brought new challenges and new adventures in my hockey career, I've quickly learned to keep an open mind to any and all opportunities, that's how we grow.

Playing primarily on coed teams since I was four years old, I have consistently challenged myself to improve my skills and elevate my game. I take pride in my ability to read the play and make quick decisions, whether it's setting up a teammate for a goal or making an impactful defensive play. My commitment to training, both on and off the ice, has allowed me to develop not only my technical abilities but also my mental resilience.

Beyond my athletic pursuits, I strive to be a positive influence within my team. I believe that strong communication and mutual support are the foundations of any successful squad. As a captain, I have learned the importance of leading by example, fostering a culture of encouragement, and celebrating the strengths of each player.

Academically, I am equally committed. Balancing rigorous coursework with my athletic commitments has taught me time management and discipline. I am eager to pursue a degree that will challenge me intellectually and help me grow as a person, while also contributing to a collegiate hockey program that values hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship.

I am excited about the opportunity to bring my passion for the game and my drive for excellence to a girls college hockey team. I look forward to competing at a higher level, forming lasting relationships with my teammates, and contributing to the program’s success. Together, I believe we can achieve great things both on and off the ice.
