My number one motivator for everything I do is to be the best that I can be and get better every day. I may not be a able to be the best at everything, but I can give it my all and be the best that I can be. My ultimate goal is to affect the world in the biggest way I can and this includes finding a school that is the right fit not only for playing softball but also for starting my education journey towards a career in medicine. I believe my work ethic and dedication both on and off the field is what separates me from other candidates. I always put in the work to be my best.
Academics are very important to me. I am an all A student and I take the highest level classes I can be enrolled in. I participate in the Duke University TIPS program and have taken online summer courses with Duke for the last two summers to broaden my education. My seventh grade SAT score is what made me eligible to take these courses, achieving eligibility in both mathematics and reading/language for my scores in each section.
I also aspire to help my community as well and do so through my work with NJHS, participation in student council, and by volunteering at a local medical clinic. It is important to give back to the community around us. As Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back."
