Personal Statement
My name is Kyla Fricks. I am a physical, versatile lacrosse player who can play anywhere on the field. I am good at listening to my coaches and applying their instructions. I like the aggressive side of lacrosse and I love grinding for ground balls or getting off tough shots. I started as a freshman at Saint Gertrude High School playing attack/midfield and winning the Rookie of the Year Award. I finished my SGHS season with 17 goals, 8 assists, 22 ground balls, 8 draw controls, and 7 caused turnovers against some of the best lacrosse competition in Virginia.
At school, I enjoy activities such as chorus and drama. I take pride in playing the piano, flute, ukulele, and making my own music through technology. I am enrolled in college preparatory classes and honors classes at Saint Gertrude High School. I always push myself in the classroom to get good grades. Additionally, I enjoy giving back to the community and I have over 40 volunteer hours this year. To stay in shape, I run Cross Country, lift weights, and do agility training.
