Head of the Trent...Hi coaches! My name is Haley Knott and I am a 17 year old coxswain from Ontario, Canada. I began my rowing career at 13 years old when I joined the St. Catherine's Rowing Club Junior Development program. After a year and a half of rowing, I was asked to learn how to cox as I had some experience from Junior Development. In September of 2022, I was brought up to the u19 women's team to cox the top boat, where we attended major races including Head of the Charles placing fourth, and Head of the Schuylkill where we received a gold finish!
Once getting the opportunity to cox in fall season, I decided to continue as a coxswain, developing my skillset and drive for racing. As more and more seasons have gone by, I have continued to expand my abilities and "limits" by coxing senior women's and masters crews as well as helping the Canadian national team and Brock University. With these experiences, I have enabled myself to always be in a process of learning and growing as a leader of my team.
In post-secondary, I plan finding myself on a team that will constantly challenge me both on and off the water, allowing me to continue to build my abilities all the way into my senior year. Also, as an individual that loves to learn from their team, I hope to be a part of a crew that continuously motivates, supports, and builds off of one another in order to create a safe and healthy environment for all athletes to express themselves.
