Emily Evans '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Emily Evans , I'm 16 , and a junior at Baton Rouge Magnet High School. I have played on the varsity team since freshman year, and I will say it was a whole new experience. Being a meek freshman playing with older and more physical juniors and seniors have really taught me how to play with the big dogs. I grew in physique and talent through these past two years. I have built a close relationship with all my teammates and really have seen all styles of play and leadership. I transferred these new skills and physicality to my practices and games at my club - Baton Rouge Soccer Club. I am great with my teammates and have never had run-ins with others. I am captain of my high school team this year and have learned so much about leadership and coping with challenging situations. I am very extroverted meaning I am very open with communication. I am not afraid to help others on and off the pitch.  

Through out my soccer career, I have played all positions. However there are two that I have performed and improved in - center back and midfield. During club season I have played center back and improved on strong clearances and playing tougher. When high school season started I was moved up into midfield by my high school coach for he saw more potential. Playing center defensive midfield, got me used to the distributing and quicker play on the ball. After a coupled games I was moved to center attacking midfield and the goals for our team increased. In my junior year I scored 17 goals and I hope to continue increasing them by my senior year. I have many assists as well for our team.

I would love to play soccer at any college level and love the experience of improving my game each and everyday. Through all ups and downs I have learned to keep going and soccer helped me to get through all of it. When I step onto a college field for a game, I hope to be the best I can and push past the limits that are holding me back.
