Personal Statement
At age six my mom signed me up for my town's soccer recreation program simply to help me find an interest. I did gymnastics, dance, piano, and guitar but the one that stuck is soccer. Soccer has taught me how to be passionate about something you really love. It gave me something to look forward to whenever we had a practice, game, or tournament. It taught me what hard work and dedication looks like. I've been connected to countless people because of the sport. The friendships, teammates, and colleagues I’ve had over the years have added so much to my life and who I am as a person and player.
While being athletically driven, my academics are very important to me, too. As a student at Teaneck High School, I take mostly honors classes and I've achieved either Principal's Honor Roll (GPA 4.5+) and Gold Honor Roll (GPA 4.0-4.49) for every marking period during my time at the high school. I enjoy all of my classes but I am particularly interested in, and good at, art and business. I would like to have a career as an interior designer and I plan to major in interior design and minor in business. Although soccer requires a lot of my time, focus, and energy, I am also an officer in H.E.A.L, a women's empowerment club at my school. I have coached in my town's rec soccer league for three years and am currently a volunteer since the organization is not having teenage coaches due to the pandemic. I am also an active member of my church.
Playing in college has been a long-term goal of mine and is important to me. I look forward to continuing to learn and develop as a player. I believe that being on a team and the relationships I've had with my teammates and coaches has been a very positive aspect of my life. I hope to have the opportunity to experience this in college.
