My collegiate goal is to study Sports Medicine so that it will help me improve my own soccer career while also providing a back up plan if I don't play professional soccer.
Several reasons for being a good candidate would be my sportsmanship, ability to accept constructive criticism, and striving to always be the best person and athlete I can be. I'm always encouraging people to try their best. I practice with my teammates to help build the overall team but I also practice on my own to be the best player I can be. I think good sportsmanship is one of the most important aspects of playing on a team.
What makes me different is that even though I'm in foster care for the 2nd time, I choose to not let my past slow me down and I do everything I can to go as far as possible, eventually to play professional soccer. I have improved my grades every year, and my soccer skills since joining club soccer. I attend as many optional practice sessions and camps as I'm able to, even when I may not feel like it. I think helping others also helps myself, both on and off the field. I maintain a positive attitude and am constantly motivating my teammates to not dwell on the bad times. I work as hard as I can so my future self will be proud of me.
