Hi my name is Allison Menjivar-Sibrian. I’m from Reston,Virginia and my parents are from El Salvador. Over the past 10 years soccer has made me had my ups and downs, but overall it has taught me how passionate I feel playing. I thank God for giving me the strength and courage every day to keep pursuing my dreams as time goes by. As of God, I aim to make not only my dream come true but my dad’s. He has brought all my love to soccer all my life. My dad has always pushed me to my limits so I can be the very best and pursue something he unfortunately couldn’t.
In spring season of 2022, I unfortunately tore my acl. Tearing an acl was brutal, I never expected something like that as a 14 year old, but injuries happen. As I was recovering I fell rock bottom not knowing what to do with my life and if I were to ever be the same. I thank God, my family, and my close friends for sticking with me and motivating me each day to get back at doing what I love the most. Mentally, Emotionally, and Physically being out for a year and a half was one of the toughest moments of my life, I didn’t know who I was, seeing everyone have fun kicking a ball around while I was just watching destroyed me. Now I look back at my injury proudly because I overcame something I never thought I would’ve, everything happens for a reason and now I am the best version of myself.
Apart from soccer I have always dedicated my education first. I work hard and dedicate my time to the important things that will help me on and off the field. As of now I don’t know what I would like to pursue in my studies in college, my current interests are business and marketing. I hope to know soon what I would like for my future besides continuing playing soccer. Thank you for taking your time to read my testament.
