I am committed to swimming because swim has always been there for me. As a child I had to overcome some major health and neurological problems. I could not always participate in everything my peers could, but I always had swim as a solid ground.
I have worked very hard to be the best student, swimmer, and person I can be, and I believe my academic record and times reflect that. I believe I would be an asset to any team because I am a dedicated and hard-working athlete and student. Despite being only 5’3” I have managed to become a competitive swimmer, and am in the top 3 female swimmers at my high school. This past season, I Had the honor of swimming at CIF division 2 valley championships with 5 other talented ladies. I medaled in both of my individual events as well as my medley relay. In addition, my 400 free relay won first place and our girls team won runner—up at championships.
I have been able to maintain a higher than 4.0 GPA while competing in two high school sports, marching and playing in the high school band, and practicing year-round with my swim club.
My goals for the future are to continue my swim career in college, while pursuing a Master’s Degree in Psychology. I plan to use my psychology degree to help children and their families deal with and possibly overcome major health, neurological, behavioral, etc… problems.
