Rebecca Carlson '25 Recruiting Profile

I am a hard-working student and swimmer that likes to set goals and achieve them. I am committed to my faith, my family and friends, my studies, and my sport.

I have been swimming competitively since I was 9 years old, and have made USA state cuts in the 13-14 age group, and in the senior division. I have made the YMCA zone team in the 11-12, and senior divisions as well. I have set multiple team records (both individual and in relays,) and won the 110 percent award for my team two years in a row. With great coaching and instruction, I look forward to reaching more goals with my club team, and in my college swimming career.

In addition to meeting and exceeding goals, I have also enjoyed helping others. I am both a swimmer and assistant coach for a neighborhood team in the summer. Outside the pool, I assist with children's catechesis in my local parish.

I was in public school my freshman year, and attended a homeschool co-op my sophomore year. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA in both locations, under accelerated and intense coursework. I am a dedicated student, and my grades reflect this. This fall, along with my co-op work, I plan to enroll in dual-credit college courses. 

I come from a supportive and loving family and community, and feel blessed to participate in a sport that I love so much.  I would love to join a similar community in college, where I hope to continue with that same hard work and commitment to my faith, studies, and sport. I'm looking for a college that will allow me to be part of a program that will support me in achieving academic and athletic goals, and where I can be an important contributor to the team.
