I have been running since I was 13 years old and have dreamed of running at the collegiate level like my older sister ever since. I know that participating in collegiate sports is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will change my future for the better.
Although I do not have the fastest start, I am able to push myself even harder in a race to make up for lack of a quick beginning which will get faster with more work. I am a team leader and try to lead by example and experience to fellow athletes as a captain on my high school team. I am a very coachable athlete and strive for success with any position I am put in and will be the hardest working runner and recruit you will find for your team.
In the classroom, I work hard to maintain a high GPA with AP and honors classes while also balancing volunteering in the school and district.
I want to attend a school where I am able to obtain the degree I want as a first-generation graduate while also working as hard as possible on the track with a strong group of athletes pushing towards greatness as well. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match for me in the classroom and in athletics at the highest level of competition possible. In the long run, I want to be able to look back and see a successful athlete and student who is a role model to her peers and was able to make her parents, coaches, and those who doubted proud.
