Making the last out on a diving backhand to save a no-hitter has to be the highlight of my high school career. But it soon humbled me because the next two games were some of the hardest and worst games I’ve played. I had to learn that baseball is a game where you need to make mistakes to get better and just because you made an error doesn’t mean you have to give up. In my Sophomore year, I was the captain of our team and that was a big role to fill. I had always been a player that sits back and follows people's lead. Being in that role taught me what it means to be a good leader and how important it is to be encouraging and let people know that the next play is what matters.  

I’ve played baseball ever since I could hold a bat. I’ve been fascinated by the concept that you might be the best player on the team, but you still need eight guys that can back you up. You aren’t going to get the ball 100% of the time, but with teamwork and precision, your team can make the plays that win games. I have learned that being mentally strong is important and this is especially important in my academics.  I’m a three-sport athlete and that doesn’t make the academic side of school easy but I’ve managed to do it and I’ve managed to get mostly A’s and a B's. I’m a shy kid when you first get to know me but when you break me out of that shell I can be an amazing asset to your program.
