Hi, I’m Chloe Callender and I’m a senior at St Mary’s Academy in Denver Colorado. Growing up, I played a wide variety of sports including soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, and swim team. While I enjoyed every one of them, they didn’t give me joy the way that running has.
I started running competitively in the fall of 2020 when covid moved the volleyball season to the spring. I had no idea that something I was just trying out for fun would become my biggest passion. After the first day of practice, my goals for the sport changed. I developed a devotion for running that I didn’t have for any other sport and knew this was something I wanted to pursue. After suffering a brief setback from injury in 2021, I have joined an indoor track club and my school track team, allowing me to compete in a variety of events and build my endurance. I am back to running and stronger than ever.
My senior cross-country season was by far my best yet, as I consistently ran under 21 minutes, achieved a 2nd team All-League award, and placed 51st at my State meet.
All of my fastest times were run at around 5280 feet of elevation.
Aside from running, academics are a significant priority in my life. I plan on pursuing math and science at a college that can allow me to grow both academically and athletically. I’ve kept a 4.0 grade point average throughout my first three years of highschool, and taken multiple APs that allowed me to expand my knowledge of the fields I find fascinating.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile!
