As a three-sport athlete in mountain biking, Nordic skiing, and track, I've consistently aimed to embody qualities like resilience, coachability, and teamwork. I always give 100%, and I strive to support my teammates in loving the sport as much as I do. Personal success is only a small part of why I continue to be the athlete I am.
Since I started competitive mountain biking in high school, I have progressed quickly and aim to race at the 2024 MTB Nationals following podium finishes in all of my regular season races. Co-captaining the team, I learned mental toughness and leadership, especially as one of 9 girls on a coed team of nearly 70. Nordic skiing, a lifelong pursuit, enhanced my physical and mental skills. Despite our team's limited resources compared to competitors, I learned persistance and qualified for the state race two years in a row. Since the time I started track in 8th grade, I have explored various events, from the 400 to the 4x100 to triple jump, where I have found my niche. In less than a season, my personal best improved by almost 6 feet.
Beyond sports, I maintain a GPA over 4.0, have made Honor Roll every year, and joined the National Honor Society. Taking challenging AP and Honors courses, such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus, while learning Mandarin Chinese through Brigham Young University, I find the joy in struggle. I balance academics with a part-time job at a local outdoors store and volunteer work in the community getting elementary and middle school kids on mountain bikes.
Looking forward, I seek a college that aligns with my academic and athletic goals. Excited about continued growth, I aim to find the right match for my future endeavors.
