Full speed, Full effort. That simple family motto yelled from the sidelines summarizes my approach to life on and off the track. I started running and competing in track at the varsity level when I was in the 7th grade, initially just running in the 4x200. I quickly developed a passion for the sport and began to excel in the 200m, 100m, 4x100, and 4x200. Our jump coach introduced me to the triple jump in 8th grade and I love the variety it gives me. It is my dream to run track collegiately and continue to achieve individual and team goals.
Setting personal goals in track and working to achieve them has allowed me to gain confidence in myself. I have dedicated myself to track by attending camps and clinics in the off-season and I make every minute count in the weight room. I bring a positive attitude to the sport and learn from the feedback provided by coaches.
My approach to academics is much the same. While I am undecided on the exact major, my career goal is to make a difference in someone’s life. I am interested in the fields of social work or sports medicine. I am open to college locations and am open to large and small campuses. I am looking for a college that offers academic variety and will allow me to succeed as a student-athlete.
Full speed on the track and full effort in the classroom is the key to my success. I think I would be a great asset to your team.
