My Love of track started at an early age, I loved to run and run fast. My first taste of competition came from field day and Olympic night at middle school where I usually finished first. After breaking my middle school hundred meter record, I moved onto high school where I won all but one 100 meter race (finished 2nd) and was undefeated in the 200 meter pushing my teammates to achieve their PR along the way. We won our division for the first time in 16 years that season.
This year I practiced javelin, discus, long jump and triple jump before the start of the season, and realized I could win a lot of points for our team in the throws. So with great coaching (Shout out to Coach LaDuca) and determination, I was able to finish 1st in the discus and javelin in all but one meet where I took 2nd in both. We repeated as Division champions 2 years in a row undefeated.
This is an example of the dedication, determination and versatility I can bring to your track team. I am constantly pushing myself toward a new PR, while challenging and encouraging my teammates to obtain theirs as well. I would love to find a track program where my coaches and teammates constantly challenge, and guide me to be the best track athlete I can be, all the while pursuing a degree in engineering.
