ABOUT MYSELF
I am currently a Junior at Shore Regional High School where I run varsity track (800m and 1600m) and cross country while also competing nationally in the sport of triathlon. I also work diligently on my academics and have achieved honor roll with a GPA of 3.8. My goal is to pursue a college degree while competing as a college athlete at a school where I will grow and mature to be my best.
Triathlon - USAT Junior Elite
I race USA Triathlon Junior Elite, which are draft legal races that mimic the ITU World Triathlon Series and Olympic format around the country. Triathlon has always been my main passion as it challenges me to maximize my potential in three sports. Each unique discipline has taught me powerful lessons to train with discipline and consistency, to be fearless, and to believe in myself.
Shore Regional HS - Cross Country and Track
I love running at Shore Regional HS! Competing against the best in the area motivates me to train harder and to get better. Just as important is the camaraderie I have for my teammates. As a Freshman, it was my goal to learn my role with the team and to earn the respect of my teammates. I had a great experience and it was highlighted by my team coming in 2nd place and myself coming in 4th place at the NJSIAA Sectionals - Central. Last year, as I enter into my Sophomore year it is my goal to be a team leader and to grow with the team. We had a team goal to win Sectionals last year and it was a great accomplishment to help my team win Central Jersey Group 1 Sectionals. As I enter my junior year, my goals only become bigger, and my love for the sport grows stronger.
OVERCOMING OBSTACLES
I am no stranger to dealing with adversity. In 2017 I suffered a stress fracture in my lower back while competing in USA Gymnastics (20-25 hours a week) as a result of continuous overuse. Although the injury was tough it led me to make the hard decision to transition to endurance sports. In addition, my family and I lost our house in Hurricane Sandy. I come from a strong family that has helped shape my values and beliefs in a positive way. Through setbacks and defeats, I have learned that adversity has and will continue to make me stronger and more well-rounded.
