Personal Statement
Unlike many amazing athletes, my success was found when my coach needed someone to run the 400 legs of the Distance Medley at a JV meet, and I was the lucky pick. I stepped on the track not knowing what to expect, but as the fierce competitor I am, I ran my best and did amazing. Next thing I knew, I was a Varsity 400m runner. That day, I didn't only find my event, but I found my passion. Every time I step onto the track, I am motivated and determined to reach goals that one year ago, I never would have even fathomed. The passion and joy I find in track inspire me to encourage those around me to get better and experience the life change that I have. I would love to be able to continue experiencing all that comes with track outside of high school at a very competitive level. I would be encouraging, determined, and committed to the team. The track community surrounds me with support that nothing else provides, so it is my dream to run at a competitive college, and maybe do even more later. Academically, I also want a college where I can major in exercise science.
