Personal Statement
Winning two state championships in the 800 and 1600 meter run this year in track as a sophomore has been an amazing journey. I have learned through running that having a positive attitude in life and striving everyday to reach my goals will build a stronger me, not only physically but mentally. I started running when I was in 7th grade. It was after my first win in the 800 meter run that I saw myself having a future in this sport. I have been driven since then to accomplish what I feel God has blessed me with. I feel that having a strong faith and family bond has been the rock that I stand on each day. The strength of this bond is what has made me into the person I am today. I have learned through this sport and in my academics that perseverance, commitment and teamwork is essential to success.
My goals for the future are to continue to work hard both academically and with my running. I feel I have the talent to compete at the college level and that I have the character, work-ethic and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. I want a program that will set me up for the future in running and in a career too. Academics as always been an essential part of my life and I am driven and will continue to be driven to achieve a 4.0. I strive to be the best and do the best I can in everything that I do. I am beyond excited about my college career and I cannot wait to see what God has planned for my future.
