I developed a passion for running competitively when I was in the sixth grade. As an eighth grader, I was able to run JV cross country as well as indoor and outdoor track for Monticello High School in Charlottesville, Virginia. My coach and I both see my strengths in the 800m as my body is naturally built for races which favor leg power however, I still remain very competitive in the mile and two-mile distances.
I find myself to be a very competitive and motivated individual always willing to put in the hard work to improve every day. I set both short and long-term goals which has proven very helpful for me to stay on track with both running and excelling in the classroom. Currently, I pursue the highest level classes offered to me and I am dedicated to maintaining grade-A performance. I am highly organized and effectively manage my time knowing how crucial those skills are as a student-athlete.
Finding a school that fits my running ability is important to me, but more importantly I need to find a school that fulfills my academic goals. While I am keeping a very open mind when it comes to the school I will attend, I would like to attend a school where I can find a healthy balance between athletics and my academic commitments, specifically in the medical field. Additionally, I would like to attend a school that possesses an energetic atmosphere both on my team and in the classroom. I am very hopeful to find a school which possesses all of these attributes.
