Three words that best describe me are hardworking, relentless, and determined. I have overcome many challenges in both my academic and athletic career. When I was a young child, I was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a form of kidney cancer. I worked very hard to compensate for my late start in the classroom and brain fog that I experienced after chemotherapy. Shortly after this I found a love for all things sports including soccer, basketball, and swimming. Sports have taught me how to set goals, work hard, and put in the extra effort. During middle school I was introduced to the sport of triathlon where I discovered my talent and appreciation for running and once I began high school, running became my primary focus. Unfortunately COVID and a stress fracture would derail my entire sophomore season but as a junior I have been able to return to running and make great progress. Highlights from my junior year include running at Penn Relays, qualifying for VHSL Class 6A regionals in the 800m, 1600m, and 4x800m, and finishing 4th in the VHSL Class 6A State Championships in the 4x800m. I am determined to continue to drop my times and focus on all of the little things to stay healthy and achieve my goals. I look forward to contacting college coaches and seeing what the future has in store for me.
