Italya Carter '25 Recruiting Profile

I have played volleyball for 8 years and a setter for 5 years in the Open Division.  I have been co-captain for Amazons Mambas for the past 3 years finishing 9th place in 16 Open Division, 1st place in 17 Championship, then 6th place in 17 Open in AZ Region. I played on the 2021 AZ High-Performance Future Select team as a setter in the USAV All-Star tournament, in which we took 1st place. 

I maintain a 4.0 GPA and Class 2025 at Estrella Foothills High School.  I am the starting setter on the Varsity team running a 6-2 offense.  Freshman year, we finished 3rd overall 4A in the State Semi-Finals.  In my Sophomore year, I played 34 games and 77 sets on Varsity, where we claimed the 4A State Championship.  Junior year, we finished 4A State Runner-Up and hit a career-high of 575 assists for the season.  Considering my years of experience in high-level competitive volleyball, my size, speed, and strength allow me to consistently set with my hands bringing more balls into the system, especially with the middle hitters.

I am a smart player who is familiar with receive plays, free ball plays, and setting out of the system.  I can target float and top spin serve to any spot on the court, and I have strong court communication skills and can fully lead a competitive fast-paced offense.
