2019 Highlights
2018 Highlights
My name is Mackenzie Barela, and I am a student in the class of 2021 at Liberty High School in Peoria, Arizona. At the age of fourteen, I was presented with the opportunity to be employed by the City of Peoria refereeing youth volleyball. This opportunity has enabled me to further my joy and knowledge of the sport that I love. Also through this, I have been able to share my knowledge and love for the game with the young children who play in this league. I myself started playing volleyball in first grade through the City of Peoria. I then began to play competitively in the fourth grade. Throughout my many years playing club, I have played at Arizona Volleyball Club (AZVC), Arrowhead Volleyball Club, Arizona Sky Volleyball Club, and now at Livewire Volleyball Club. I have played in many National Qualifier tournaments and this past club season my team placed third in the Colorado Crossroads National Qualifier. I am always striving to improve my skills both in volleyball and in everyday life. I am constantly seeking to become more refined, faster, and stronger. I am always striving to become a better person overall and be the best at anything I do. In addition to volleyball, I hold myself to a very high standard academically and I demonstrate that through my 4.0 + GPA. I am currently ranked 38th out of 612 students in my class. Outside of school, I participate in many extra-curricular activities such as HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I also enjoy working out and weight lifting with my trainer, while always striving to become better and stronger. Once I get to college, I hope to have the opportunity to play on a collegiate level team, while furthering my interest and career choice of medicine by taking classes in that area of study.
Thank you for your time, Mackenzie Barela.
