Hi! My name is Molly Kingston and I have been playing volleyball since I was in the 4th grade. From 4th grade to 6th grade I was active in dance, basketball and volleyball. After 6th grade, I had to pick one sport to focus on. It was a tough decision, but after lots of prayer, I chose volleyball. I have not regretted that decision.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and doing active things like hiking, kayaking, swimming, and hammocking. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to go to a park with my friends to relax and hammock. I also like to read in bed or relax and watch movies. Dogs are my favorite animal, and I enjoy going to the animal shelter in my free time. In school I maintain a 4.0 while taking Pre-AP/ AP classes and choir.
In middle school (7th grade) and junior high (8th and 9th grade), I played on my junior high school's varsity team all three years. I was the only player my age to do so. Through my junior high career, I played all 6 rotations playing a setter in the back row and a right front hitter. Through hard work and dedication, I was the leading hitter and setter for my school.
In my 8th grade year, I was co-captain of the varsity team and earned the best setter award through my stats. In my 9th grade year, I was captain of the varsity team leading my team to co-conference and regional champions. That year, I not only received the setter award, but I was voted MVP by my teammates and coaches.
I currently play volleyball for the Ozark Juniors Volleyball Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas on the 17-1’s team. I have been playing club volleyball since I was in 6th grade on the 12-1’s team playing for every 1’s team they offered since then. My 12’s, 13’s, and 16’s years my team has qualified for the GJNC Nationals in Dallas, Texas and in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In my 16’s year, I ranked the number one overall player in my age for the club. This year, I ranked the number one defender and number two setter.
In all of my years of volleyball (5), I have played the setter position, but because of my ranking in the defense position I am currently playing in the defense position (libero). I recently was recognized in the AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL as an AAU All- American.
I go to school at Har-Ber High School and a starter on the varsity team. My sophomore year I played up on the High School Varsity team rotating in for the setter or defense position when needed. This year, my junior year, I played all six rotations playing right back defense in a 5-1, playing the setter position in a 6-2, and front row as a right front hitter. I qualified as an all tournament player in the Early Bird Tournament at Bentonville High School and FT Smith tournament. I also made the all conference team for the 7A West Conference in 2017.
My goals for college are to get a degree in a field that I am interested in and enjoy. I would love to also compete in volleyball at a high level. Volleyball has taught me many things including how to be supportive, and how to be a good teammate. I am a team leader, disciplined, quick, coach-able, versatile, and bring a positive attitude.
