Personal Statement
My athletic career started with a love for horses and rodeo. Growing up on my family’s 4th generational farm and ranch and learning to ride full size horses by the age of 4 taught me to be tough, responsible, strong, gritty and yet gentle at the same time. I’ve been blessed to grow up beside my older sister learning about everything she did and aspiring to be just like her one day. As I got older, being the youngest sister that I am I quickly learned I didn’t like to be behind others or “lose” at anything! My competitive drive didn’t take long to kick in and as soon as I started competing in rodeo I learned to love everything to do with working hard to accomplish the goals I set for myself. Being raised by two athletic parents and alongside a sister finding fun in other sports like basketball and volleyball opened my eyes to so many other skills and goals I wanted to accomplish. Watching my sister play middle school and high school sports made me eager to get out on the court and try it for myself. the opportunity to play club volleyball presented itself my 5th grade year and my parents went all in, willing to drive me to practices and tournaments and even helping me put in extra reps in the gym working on any skill I wanted to master. Since then sports have been a huge part of my life and i’ve loved so many different things like rodeo, dance, basketball and track, but my favorite being volleyball.
