A teammate gave me a great compliment when she said she loved playing with me because of my positive attitude and incredible work ethic, but she also hated playing with me because I made her work harder. I always strive to be the hardest working player on the court and to bring out the best in my teammates. I combine determination, coachability, and encouragement to be the best team player I can be.
By listening to great coaches and playing beach volleyball, I have an understanding of the game that enables me to make smart plays in crucial situations. On offense, I can hit zones or finesse when needed. While on the back row, I do an excellent job of reading hitters, communicating, and getting to the ball. I also have an extremely consistent jump float serve and am working on my top-spin serve.
In academics, I push myself with advanced math, science, history, and language courses while maintaining a high GPA. Outside of classes, I am a leader in FCA and volunteer for service projects in my school and community.
COVID interruptions have given me the opportunity to grow in new ways as well as bond with a broader group of athletes. In addition to pursuing beach volleyball training and taking advantage of Cross Country conditioning, I have challenged myself to learn a new sport - lacrosse. It has driven me mentally and physically to learn new strategies and become stronger with the contact involved. I believe all of these sports have made me a better indoor volleyball player.
