Hello Coaches! My name is Liv Westfort, class of 2025. This will be my third year playing volleyball, and despite my short time playing, it’s become my favorite sport, hobby and lifestyle. I had previously played basketball for 6 years, and planned to pursue collegiate basketball. However, I struggled with motivation to practice on my own, despite my goals. Once I started to play volleyball, I instantly fell in love with it. I continually made an effort to practice on and off the court, with volleyball enveloping my entire life. Two years later, I still play basketball and volleyball, finally making a decision to strive for collegiate volleyball over my previous pursuits. Words cannot describe my genuine love for this sport, as it’s become an outlet and major source of joy in my life. I enjoy every single moment; practice, films or games.
I’m willing to put all my effort forth to not only improve myself physically, but also emotionally in order to support my teammates, and positively reflect whatever program I’m a part of. I will out-work and out-hustle any amount of talent or experience, while constantly improving myself at every moment and opportunity. Not to mention, within my 2 years of experience I have won an All-Conference award my first year, and my high school team placed second in the NEPSAC Volleyball Championship. Despite the skills and athleticism I know I have, I also am aware of my large room for growth. But I view my growth as potential to become a well-versed player in the volleyball community. I hope to become the best player I can be, which only happens through tough competition with other aspiring athletes. My desire to play strives beyond college, with the dream to play professionally after completing my four years of studying. I would love to play volleyball for many years to come, and I hope I fully expressed my passion for this sport in this short message. Thank you for your time!
