Miranda Greathouse '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Miranda Greathouse (515-313-8118) . I am a Senior at Ankeny High School .  We just finished our season and I was awarded 1st team all conference (unanimous), All-CIML Elite team, Iowa girls' coaches association Senior All-Star, 5A West All District team and Iowa Girls Coaches Association Honorable Mention 5A All-State Team..  I'm so honored to be selected for these awards.   I played varsity my freshman year as a DS and varsity my sophomore Year as a starting DS and Libero, my junior and senior year as the starting libero. Last year I played club volleyball for Ignit volleyball club as a libero and backup outside hitter. Previously I played club volleyball for Central Iowa Select as a Libero. I am 5'10" and I have played all the positions throughout my volleyball career. I have always been around volleyball because my parents play and have managed a sand volleyball facility. I started playing club volleyball when I was 9.

I play both beach volleyball and indoor. I love to play doubles with my beach partner, and also love to play indoor with my team. Other than volleyball I like going to Junkyard which is the youth group at my church. I like volunteering and helping people as much as possible. I used to play soccer for about 7 years. I stopped playing soccer because I wanted to focus on volleyball. Other than volleyball and church, I really love to go trout fishing with my dad. We have an annual weekend trip I always look forward to! Last year I tried Tennis for the first time and made the varsity team.  Tennis is a great challenge and I'm looking forward to playing again this year!

This past year I had the chance to coach a 6th grade indoor volleyball team and a the younger beach players.  I really enjoy the excitement of these newer players.  Its fun to help them reach their goals and be a good example for them.  I hope to continue to help youth in the future.

I think that I would be a great addition to your indoor team or beach team because I am hard working and always want to learn more. I'm very positive and encouraging. Off the court I am always focused on my education. So far I have a cumulative GPA of 3.93.
