I am 17 years old and I live in Davenport, Iowa. I have a family of five, including four dogs. I am currently a junior in high school and I am taking AP and honors classes to get me prepared for college. I love to spend my free time with friends and family. I am an OH/DS for my varsity high school team and my travel volleyball team. I spend most of my time on the court, in the weight room or in lessons. This has taught me how to manage my time wisely and stay devoted and dedicated to my sports. Not only am I very passionate about volleyball but academics are a huge part for me too. I strive to get all A's throughout all my years in school. I will do everything to make sure I accomplish that. I like to take harder classes to push myself and also get a few college credits before I graduate high school.
I would like to play volleyball in college for many reasons. First of all, I have worked really hard for many years with extra lessons and long hours in the weight room in order to make the high school and travel teams. Athletics have long been part of my life and daily routine and I want to continue this through college. They have pushed me to excel farther than I thought I could be pushed. Sports have made me mentally, emotionally and physically a stronger person and they have taught me many life lessons. This includes how to work hard for something and to be diligent enough about it even if takes longer than expected to be successful. Volleyball has taught me how to be a leader on and off the court, how to be responsible for my own work ethic and behavior on and off that same court. Sports have taught me how to manage my time efficiently between school, training and family so that I can obtain good grades to further my future career goals of practicing medicine someday as well as still stay grounded and involved in the normal activities of being a high schooler. Lastly, collegiate sports are a great way to make long-lasting friendships and memories. I really look forward to these personal connections I will be able to make throughout my college experience.
My goal is to compete at the highest level possible. I am open to any division and location but value finding the right fit academically and athletically. The energy and effort I bring to the classroom as well as the court is the root of my success. I strive to be at the top in all that I do.
