Makayla Fincher '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Makayla Fincher and I am a Junior at Waverly- Shell Rock High School in Waverly Iowa.  
I am a three  year starting setter for my high school team who qualified for the State Tournament in Class 4A that last two years.  We made it to the semi finals my freshman year and got beat in the first round my sophomore year.  We ran a 6-2 my freshman year and I ran a 5-1 my sophomore year.  This year we ran a 6-2 and I was utilized as a setter and right side hitter.  
I have participated in club volleyball since I was in the 5th grade.  I have been with the Six Pack VBC since my U13 year and have played multiple positions.  My U-13 year I played libero, setter , and outside hitter we placed 35th at Nationals in the National Division.  My U-14 year I was the setter and we ran a 5-1 we tied for 13th  at Nationals in the National Division. My first year with U-16  I played Setter  defense  and back up setter we place 15th in the Open Division at Nationals.    Last  year I was on the U-16 team for the second year.  I am one of the setters, but I am  playing as a  Defensive Specialist,   I am one of the best passers and defensive players on the team so that is where I am needed to make our team successful.   We placed 5th at Nationals in the National Division  This year I playes on the U18 Team as a back up setter and defensive specialist.   We placed 5th in the National Division for the 2015 Nationals.  
I consider myself a very versatile and competitive player.  I am willing to do whatever it takes for the team to be successful.  I love the game of volleyball and my goal is to play at a higher level after high school.  I am a hard and dedicated worker and am always setting goals for myself to become a better play.  I go to the gym whenever I can to continue to work on my skills.  
I want the opportunity to make a difference on a team no matter what my role may be.
I am a very studious individual also.  Grades are very important to me and I am looking at a school that can help me accomplish my goals in the field that I choose to go into.
I feel that I would be an asset. to any program that is looking for that hard working individual with a good work ethic both on and off the court.
